This dramatically reduces the upfront cost of switching to a smart starter or solar pump system.

Similarly, the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) under the 'Per Drop More Crop' (PDMC) programme offers 55% subsidy for small and marginal farmers adopting micro-irrigation and pump automation technologies. Farmers who qualify under both schemes can bring the net cost of a smart starter installation down to as little as ₹4,000 to ₹8,000 less than a single motor rewind in many cases.
