Introduction
Registering for PM Kisan Samman Nidhi is only half the jobthe other half is checking, before every instalment, that your record is still clean. Aadhaar seeding lapses, e-KYC falls out of date, or a bank account detail quietly stops matching, and any one of these can hold back your ₹2,000 without you finding out until you notice the money never arrived. The good news is that checking takes about two minutes on the official portal, and it tells you exactly what stage your payment is at and exactly what to fix if it's stuck.
Step 1: Go Straight to the Official Portal
Open pmkisan.gov.in directly in your browser not a link from a message or a search ad, since fraudulent look-alike sites are a known problem with a scheme this widely used. On the homepage, find the “Farmers Corner” section and click “Know Your Status.”
Step 2: Enter Your Registration Number
You'll be asked for your PM Kisan registration number along with a captcha code. If you have it saved from your original registration, enter it directly and skip to Step 4.
Step 3: Don't Have Your Registration Number? Retrieve It First
Click “Know Your Registration Number” on the same page. Choose to search by your Aadhaar number or your registered mobile number, enter the captcha, and click “Get Mobile OTP.” Enter the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number, and your registration number will be displayed on screen note it down for future checks.
Step 4: Verify With OTP and View Your Status
Back on the status page, enter your registration number and a fresh captcha, then click “Get OTP” and enter the OTP sent to your phone. Your screen will now show your personal details, e-KYC status, land-seeding status, and a full instalment-wise payment history everything you need to confirm whether your latest ₹2,000 has actually gone through.
What Each Status Message Actually Means
|
Status Message |
What It Means |
|---|---|
|
Payment Success |
The instalment has been released to your account. If it hasn't appeared yet, wait 3–5 working days for your bank to process it before raising a complaint |
|
RFT Signed by State Government |
Your state has verified your details and forwarded the request for funds payment is in process but not yet credited |
|
e-KYC: No / Pending |
Your instalment is on hold until you complete Aadhaar-based e-KYC do this immediately via OTP on the portal or biometric/facial e-KYC at a CSC |
|
Aadhaar-Bank Seeding Pending |
Your bank account isn't yet mapped to your Aadhaar in the NPCI system visit your bank branch to complete this linking |
|
Rejected / Not Eligible |
Your application didn't pass a specific eligibility or data-matching check check the reason shown and correct the flagged detail before reapplying |
Two Other Ways to Confirm You're Covered
Beyond your individual status, the portal's “Beneficiary List” under Farmers Corner lets you select your state, district, sub-district, block and village to see every approved farmer in your area a useful cross-check if your individual status page shows something unexpected. If you registered yourself or through a Common Service Centre and are still waiting on approval, “Status of Self Registered/CSC Farmer” shows whether your original application is still under verification, approved, or rejected with a stated reason.
If the Portal Shows Success But the Money Isn't There
A one- to two-day gap between the portal updating and your bank actually crediting the amount is normal. If nothing has arrived after three to five working days, visit your bank branch with your Aadhaar and registration number so they can trace the transfer on their end, since the delay is sometimes on the banking side rather than the scheme's. If it's still unresolved after that, raise a complaint through the Help Desk section on the portal or call the PM-Kisan helpline.
A Simple Habit Worth Building
Check your status at least once a month, and always in the weeks leading up to an expected instalment, rather than only after a payment fails to arrive. Keep your registration number, e-KYC confirmation, and any receipts somewhere you can find them quickl and make sure your name is spelled identically across your Aadhaar, bank account, and land records, since a mismatch there is still the single most common reason a status check turns up a problem.
Conclusion
A blocked PM-Kisan instalment is almost never a mystery once you actually check the status page tells you in plain language whether it's an e-KYC gap, a bank-seeding issue, or a payment already on its way. Building the habit of checking before, not after, an expected instalment is what turns an occasional payment scare into a routine two-minute task.
